I thought this posted yesterday! Sorry!

Alright, I told you guys I would have more posts about Vegas, and we will get to that but first, today’s workout was a good one!

I have had some serious cravings for veggies lately so I filled a small bowl (giant coffee cup) with corn, broccoli and hominy for a morning snack. So good!

Nike Training Club

When the time came to workout, I really intended to only run. My goal over the next couple of months is to comfortably run 3 miles. I am so sad to say I can hardly run a mile without wanting to die but I used to be able to so I know I can get back into it. I am such a running noob now. We all gotta start somewhere!

I jogged a little over a mile and then did another Nike Training App workout. Nike Training Club

Today I did the “Slim Chance” 30 minute workout. It says the estimated calories burned was 92 but I have a hard time believing that. I always sweat when I workout but I was ridiculously sweaty after this one and definitely felt like I burned way more than 90 something calories. I will have to wear my heart rate monitor next time to see how accurate that estimate is.

I definitely feel motivated to push my limits because I have been totally failing in the fitness department and my body feels sluggish. I know I will be able to have a more regular workout schedule once we get moved and unpacked too so I cannot wait! We get the keys next Friday.

Alright, on to the Vegas update. you can read what we did on our first day in Vegas here and here.

Friday morning, we got up and went to breakfast at an Italian place in our hotel. Bodies the exhibition I ordered a cafe mocha, which was just ok. It was a bit too sweet for me so I should have just stuck to regular coffee. Bodies the exhibition

They had the best jelly. I seriously have a hard time saying no to bread if it is around me so I ate way too many pieces. Luckily, I ordered a pretty light breakfast plate. Bodies the exhibition

The fruit and cottage cheese plate was delicious!

It had pineapple, mango, watermelon, kiwi, apple and dragon fruit. I had never seen or tasted dragon fruit before (the white fruit with black seeds) so I looked it up online. The whole fruit looks really cool! I don’t even know where to get one of those around here. The texture was different but the flavor was really good! Yay for trying new things! After breakfast, I headed back up to the room to work for a bit.

A few hours later, I was hungry again but my favorite Starbuck’s snack saved the day.

For lunch, we headed to the Sporting House in the hotel. We started with the artichoke dip and I ordered a salad. I forgot to take a picture but there wasn’t much to it anyways. Lettuce, dressing and a couple of carrot shavings. I wasn’t too impressed but Ryan really liked what he ordered and the artichoke dip was really good.

After lunch, we headed back to the room to work for a bit longer and then headed to the Luxor that evening because I really wanted to see the Bodies Exhibit. It came to Austin a while ago but I didn’t have the chance to see it and I heard such wonderful things, I knew it was a must during this trip.

Of course, you can’t take pictures inside the exhibit but it was really incredible. Ryan wasn’t too impressed but I found it really interesting. If you plan on going sometime, I will warn you about this: About midway through, there is a sign that warns you about the next area. I can’t remember exactly what it says but it does point you to an exit if you aren’t up for entering the area. Well, the area contains displays showing how a fetus looks through each stage of pregnancy.

It was really hard for me at first since my good friend had just lost her baby at about 10 weeks of pregnancy. I didn’t realize how big the baby actually is at that point so it was a little hard to see. While it was educational for me (and also made me want to postpone pregnancy for a long while) it was definitely an area I think some people would have a much harder time with, so just wanted to give a head’s up. I don’t know if you exit beforehand if you miss out on the rest of the exhibit. I was afraid we would and the tickets weren’t cheap so I just bit the bullet.

It was really interesting to see the actual size of the baby but it was sad to think it was an actual fetus. Anywho, I still recommend the exhibit and it was really cool aside from that part.

The rest of the evening was spent with Elvis. Bodies the exhibition

And I just HAD to have one of the giant margaritas all the drunky bears are walking around with. Except I opted to not get the additional shot the guy was pushing so hard for so this giant drink tasted like it had very little alcohol in it. If I’m gonna consume that many calories, I would at least like it to count. I got that out of my system though and got a really cool, huge cup to drink water out of at home so it’s alright.

Bodies the exhibitionWe actually headed back to the room fairly early and were in bed a decent hour. Losers!

Stay tuned for the a recap of the rest of our trip!

I am off to meet my mom for an early dinner so I will talk to ya later!

Have you ever been to the Bodies Exhibit? What did you think?
